All glories to Sri Guru and Sri Gauranga

China:

Sri Vyasa-Puja of

Srila Bhakti Raksak Sridhar Dev-Goswami Maharaj

Yudhamanyu Prabhu Seva Vikram dispatch and photos, received 16 December 2004
Forty-five people attended this festive occasion honouring the Divine Appearance Day of Srila Bhakti Raksak Sridhar Dev-Goswami Maharaj in the great land of China.

Several came early for cleaning, decorating and cooking. In the evening, we had arotik, which was intently performed by one of the students, and everyone participated in the chanting. That is extraordinary as they are not accustomed to kirtan style — where one person leads, and everyone else repeats. Often I am singing both parts alone! But this time, everyone joined and we had a very nice kirtan.

We also arranged for a Puspa Puja, flower offering, to Srila Sridhar Maharaja, and again, everyone happily joined in.

There were three students from Tibet who came. They brought beautiful Tibetan cloth traditionally offered to guests of honour which we placed on the picture of Srila Sridhar Maharaja on the altar, and another on the picture of the Deities.

A sumptuous feast was offered on the altar — a variety of Chinese vegetarian delicacies and preparations.

Happily cooking for Krishna!

After the offering the dedicated crew prepared the prasadam remnants on plates for distribution, and everyone feasted to their full satisfaction. The festival concluded with everyone helping with the cleanup of the ashram.

By Srila Govinda Maharaja's grace we got the opportunity to participate in the glorious worship of Sri Vyasa-Puja, even in the far-off land of China.
