The newly manifested 'Temple of Love and Affection' (left), beside the 'Temple of Union of Separation' in the heart of Sri Chaitanya Saraswat Math, Nabadwip.

Devotees gathered on this day of mixed happiness and sadness to remember and glorify our dearmost beloved Srila Bhakti Sundar Govinda Dev-Goswami Maharaj at this most holy of holy spots between the Samadhi Mandirs of Their Divine Graces Srila Bhakti Sundar Govinda Dev-Goswami Maharaj and Srila Bhakti Raksak Sridhar Dev-Goswami Maharaj.

There was some extra sadness due to the absence of His Grace Srila Bhakti Nirmal Acharya Maharaj (who was unable to attend), but relief was given by our venerable sannyasi section headed by Sripad Bhakti Sudhir Goswami Maharaj who gave nourishment and inspiration to all present.

His Divine Grace enveloped in affectionate offerings of garlands at his Samadhi Mandir.

All have expressed wonder at the stunning beauty of the Temple, manifest by the divine service of many headed by Srila Acharya Maharaj. Sripad Goswami Maharaj, Sripad Avadhut Maharaj, Sripad Tirtha Maharaj and Sripad Tyagi Maharaj all gave valuable assistance with the design and the concept as well as with selecting and preparing the specific slokas on the walls and pillars of the Mandir.

The assembled devotees are fortunate to hear from Sripad Bhakti Pavan Janardan Maharaj (left) and Sripad Bhakti Sudhir Goswami Maharaj, both of whom have been blessed with the close and affectionate association of Srila Govinda Maharaj for many years.

Behind is the verse from Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu's Siksastakam that Srila Govinda Maharaj gave so much importance to:

trnad api sunichena, taror iva sahisnuna
amanina manadena kirtaniyah sada hari

"One who is more humble than a blade of grass, more tolerant than a tree, and gives due honour to others without expecting any honour for himself, is qualified to always chant the Holy Name of Hari."
