Devi Dasi writes from St. Petersburg:
The
panel of speakers included His Divine Grace Srila Bhakti Sundar Govinda
Dev-Goswami Maharaj and Sripad Bhakti Sudhir Goswami Maharaj, as well
as Professor Bogdanov Vitaly from St. Petersburg University, Dr.
Gordienko Nikolay Ph.D. from the Union on New Religious Associations,
and Ms. Anna Soloveichikova, a government official from the Department
of Religious Affairs and Human Rights.
In general, the guests spoke about the associations between Indian and
Russian culture, and the right of religious organisations to practise
and promote Indian spirituality in Russia.
His Divine Grace spoke briefly and sweetly an introduction to Krishna
Consciousness, and at the end of the programme the audience joined in
a kirttan led by Sripad Bhakti Bimal Avadhut Maharaj, the principal
organiser and mastermind of the event.
Prabhu Amrita Krishna and Ragalekha Devi Dasi were among the main coordinators
of the event. Sripad Bhakti Chaitanya Bharati Maharaj and Prabhu Muraleshvara
were the translators. Sripad Bharati Maharaj personally translated the
Russian talks to Srila Gurudev.
