Vaishnava Calendar

Our calendar is based on the English translation of the Bengali Vaishnava Calendar, Sri Gaudiya Parva Talika, compiled by Sriyukta Dibyendu Bhattacharya, M.Sc., B.T., Jyotibhushan, Retired Headmaster.

All dates and times listed here are calculated for Kolkata, India, as referred to at Sri Chaitanya Saraswat Math, Sri Nabadwip Dham.

During his 21st World Tour, Srila Bhakti Sundar Govinda Dev-Goswami Maharaj instructed that throughout the world the devotees will follow this calendar for all dates except for Ekadasis and their associated paran (break fast) time which may be calculated locally according to the lunar calendar. In this way the days of Appearance, Disappearance, etc. of the Lord and His great devotees will be observed on the actual day they took place in India, rather than the technical local calculation of the 'tithi' which often had devotees observing, for example, the Appearance of Mahaprabhu a day before He actually appeared here in Nabadwip.

Please contact the devotees at our International Centres for local dates and times of Ekadasi fasts.

Current Vaishnava Calendar including links for reference to all earlier calendars since 2001.

N.B. Our Vaishnava Calendar is published annually at Sri Gaura-Purnima time (usually in March). Each year we receive many requests for the early availability of the next calendar. However, following the tradition established by Srila B.R. Sridhar Dev-Goswami Maharaj, the calculation of our calendar is based on a specific almanac which is itself published just a short while before Sri Gaura-Purnima each year. Therefore please bear with us, and each year we endeavour to make the new calendar available as soon as possible.
